It’s been almost three years since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot on May 19, 2018 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Despite all the time that has passed – and all that has happened since then – we still haven’t gotten over the gorgeous Duchess of Sussex wedding look.

Many royal fans spent months leading up to the occasion speculating about the designer and the style of clothing she would choose on that big day.

Finally, the big reveal came and we discovered that Meghan had opted for a stunning all-white dress with an open bateau neckline and three-quarter sleeves, designed by Clare Waight Keller, artistic director of Givenchy, France.

As with all outfits, there were some who loved the elegant dress, while others found it not to their taste and some referred to it as “simple”.

And it seems that there was a member of the royal family who wasn’t sure what to do with the election either – but for very different reasons.

According to Sunday’s mail, royal sources have claimed the queen was “surprised” by the bride’s decision to wear white in the aisle.

This is due to the fact that Meghan was previously married and divorced.

They said: “The Queen is said to have expressed her surprise that Meghan, a divorced woman, wore such a white dress to her wedding.”

Traditionally, a white wedding dress was viewed as a symbol of purity, and after a woman got married and had the relationship, they should no longer wear white because they had lost their virginity.

Meghan has been married once before, and as such, the Queen may have expected her to opt for a cream shade like champagne or delicate pink for her wedding.

The 39-year-old tied the knot with film producer Trevor Engelson during a four-day bash in Jamaica in 2011.

The couple had been together for seven years before they got married, but their marriage only lasted two years.

For this ceremony, Meghan wore a long, white, floor-length dress with an encrusted silver belt that was embellished on the dress.

The strapless dress also had a short V-drop in the front.
